[simpits-tech] Momentary on-off

Well, it's not anything star-trek related! (:P Steve!)

My old TI-85 is giving up the ghost in the graphics department (read: one by
one, entire lines on the screen are dying. I've lost 1 vertical and 4
horizontal lines at this point). But I'm never one to waste anything,
particularly anything electronic! :)

So my plan at this point is to gut the old case and turn it into a spiffy
light. I'm making a picture to put in the screen, printed on transparency,
possibly covered with some sort of translucent covering so it cant be seen
when the light is off. I'd put LEDs behind the fake screen, and make the
on-off button turn it, well, off and on! I figured it'd be a fun project.

As for the removed guts, well, lets just say I've been toying around with
the idea of getting one of the units my teachers had to display the
calculator's screen on an overhead projector, and programming and building a
graphing calculator flightsim! ;)
