Kevin, I use 1/8'' MDF wet it with hot water and it works great. That's what
I did with my fathers home made throttle

I've seen rolls of pliable wood (balsa I think) in various thicknesses that
look like they'd do the trick, but if this will work it's another option.  I
have lots of 1/4" MDF...if it'll bend nicely might work.
