Wash all the parts in degreaser (dish soap works), prime everything,
basecoat it, and paint all the details you can before starting to build.
Much easier to hold parts that are still attached to the sprue. Also make
sure to scrape the paint off the joints before glueing, and don't try to use
superglue or similar, it leaves white funk everywhere.

Look at the FTP site of simpits.

Some pages are in pub/F-16/F-16Info

Make sure you download the *.gif as the others are way to big.

Biggles.

Hi all.
Just picked up a ESCI model viper pit off E-bay.
For some reason, instructions were not included. I suppose I could figure it
out, but....
I wonder if a kind person out there who has already built one could scan the
instructions and e-mail it to me. Also, having not built too many plastic
models before, I would like to know if people paint the parts before removal
from
the plastic framework that holds the parts. I am open to any tips.....

Thanks,
John

Cheers Darren. Not having much of an interest in this type of aircraft I
was unaware of such a system. Having all the MOM's though has been quite
an education and the disconnect system seems pretty clever. There are
indeed clutches elsewhere in the system to handle disconnects under other
conditions.

Can't help with the destructions, but sure - paint what you can before
assembly. Some parts will be almost impossible to paint afterwards.

Oh, and get a large tub of patience - its worth it.

Err... never. You can't. The only bit that gets me is the slight ramp at
the back leading up to the toilet - which is now the library ;)

Too far away. Theres a handy cupboard behind the FO seat which will do
nicely though.

When she was re-assembled, none of the linkages/cables were re-connected
and we've installed gust-locks on all surfaces. Little point in flapping
the things around really.

Puzzled about the spar comments, if you look at the delivery photo's
you'll see that the entire wing section is one lump, the fuse sits on top
of that so the spar is effectively below floor level.

So it's not like the Queenair then..... The damn spar sticks up about 3
inches right at the rear of the cockpit....how many times I've kicked the
bl00dy thing so far..... Haven't actually fallen over, yet ;-)

I seem to recall that the DC-3 was the most famous for spar problems.
Sadly I missed the chance to fly in one a few weeks back so I missed the
chance to fall over it ;)

Hi group,

I took some pictures of one of mine this weekend and will post them as soon
as I have dealt with that mess that piled up on my desk the past days ;o)

Cheers,
