If the light was capable / compatiable with a NVG/NINOX set , then from my
course i did the light emmited would be infa-red light ,
infa-red is excellent to use with nvg it lights up the area in front of you
extreemly well when viewed through the nvg set , but if you removed the set
off your head the infa-red light is not visible to the naked human eye.

excellent for reading maps in the complete dark , without being detected by
a naked human eye. but bad if the ememy has infa-red capable nvg sets too
then its exaclty like turning on a conventional torch.
