[simpits-tech] Projection

Lately here downunder there's a projector that cna do up to 1024x768 res.
for about 2.5k AUD. Although it still sounds expensive, but that's half the
price of most of the other ones out there in the market at about 5k AUD a
pop.

Very tempting if you ask me. Tried it once to fly inside the half build pit
using a projector and the experience was never the same again on CRT. The
only question I ask is... will 1024x768 res. be good enough for the future.
It seems by today's computer/video card standards. Simulators can be running
up to a resolution of up to 1600x1200 by just an average setup of computer.
While that's pretty high res. Something like marginally higher than 1024x768
can give a better picture quality. So I feel like if I spend the money now
to get a 1024x768 projectile now, I will be limited in the future as higher
power computer and video card will be available. Bottlenecking the resources
and prices of these projectors will slowly drop.

Just my 2 skippy cents.

Al
