Check the in game control config.
For instance, in IL-2 you have to go into controls/hotas (in game) and
assign the axis for the throttle and rudders.
I always start the CCP and leave it in the tray.  This way I can make sure
its always emulated, or I can turn off emulation for windows settings if I
want to jump into another sim just on a whim (one I don't fly enough to
worry with a profile).
