I have seen frosted glass panel used for a screen in a theatrette.
It worked quite well

The people on this list group are using various materials for rear
projection screens. A bed sheet, translucent Mylar, even a shower curtain.
There are materials which are designed for this purpose the cost is
prohibitive to much of the list membership. I look forward to learning what
material you choose to use.
