Say, they're cheap! Hmmm, the Hagstrom is $120 though. :O

Still trying to decipher the PDF........I noticed they're 5 volts, isn't that 
what a keyboard uses? Would it be possible to interface these things to a 
scrapped keyboard? I'd sure like to have a little control box for tuning 
radios, OBS, etc. Tried to get one going months ago but couldn't find a 
suitable control. All I need is a rotary switch that shorts between different 
contacts depending on the direction of rotation. Looks like the encoders 
aren't quite that simple, no?
