Don't know about free d/l but Peter at Flight Deck Solutions http://www.flightdecksolutions.com can do high resolution prints that will blow your mind.  I'm getting the high-res overhead panel for 737NG, then substituting the portions that I want with real controls...this way I can have the real look without having to implement a bunch of stuff that doesn't really do anything in the sim.

These same prints are used by real airlines for pilot training.

Does anyone know where I can get good resolution diagrams/pictures of 
instrument panels that can be downloaded and printed to transparencies for 
the F-16.
Mine are too low a resolution......
