Albert, in if the software is made to support "enhanced mode" currently
there are
5 or 6 games that have direct support built in, IL2-FB and OP Flashpoint are
2 of them, the movement of your head is very little and kind of self centers
itself when looking to the front again, in "direct mode" (non enhanced
supported mode) I find myself having to hit the recenter key when looking
back from the sides etc... the head movement is very slight and the software
has user defined dead ranges ,
responsiveness ect...very configurable. In IL2-FB you can look at the 6 very
easy
and its a huge advantage when dogfighting, also usefull when you are in
pattern to land to track the airfield.

It takes a little getting used to when using it, but after a bit it becomes
second nature and I could not go back to flying IL2-FB without it, as for
Falcon 4, the
profile was made by a user and works in 3d cockpit only, I will report back
when I get some time to play around in F4 with it, I know the Track IR
developers were or are members of the list and posted a while back about it,
maybe they will chime in on the thread, I have to say it is VERY cool using
it in IL2-FB, if you have the game, there are tracks you can view the track
ir flights , look on the IL-2 forums on SimHQ
and Frugals and Track Ir website, oh LOMAC is on the Enhance supported list
:)-

Mike,

I am really curious about track IR. how much or little movement does it take
to move the view... Not knowing how it really works, I would think u
probably dont want it to be too responsive to compensate for minor head
movements?

and does it feels wrong to move your head say to the right... to look right,
but at the sametime having to keep the eyes to the front because your
monitor is always going to be there. Especially the six view which I always
find myself looking at when I am dogfighting.

Would love to hear about your experience with F4 using Track IR.

Cheers,

Al

I just got mine, I really haven't had a chance to use it much other than
IL2-FB, it works very good with the built in enhance mode for the game ,
other than that, not much use of it, I'll post more after I get a chance to
use it in other modes.

I just downloaded a profile someone made for Falcon 4, I found it on
Frugals forum, no chance to try it out yet though.

You may try the IL-2 forum on Frugals and the IL-2 home forum, lots of post
from Track IR users, overall consensus is it is a good product, so far I am
happy with it for what I bought it for , IL-2 FB.

Greetings all!

Is anyone using the track IR device for use with flight simming? If so, I am
curious how well it works and also how accurate it is. I read where it can
act as a hat switch or a mouse and was thinking about trying it for flying
and one of my other gaming activities. I am really curious about how
accurate it is in "mouse mode". Could you set it to this mode and it be
accurate enough to say select icons from your desktop or select
switches/buttons in a sim?

Dave
