Yeah, the mic plug is .187" ID. Somewheres once upon a time I found someone 
that had them for a decent price, but I can't find them right at the moment. 
Hopefully soon. I did find someone who had them for $4-5, but that's still 
pretty expensive IMHO.

Anyway, as far as the sound levels being too low, how did you set up the 
conversion? Because of the different impedance in an aviation headset, there 
is a small circuit and 9V battery required to get decent sounds levels out 
of it. Now I had mine setup once upon a time and it worked great. Honestly, 
if anyone's interested (and I can track down a cheap supplier for those 
stupid jacks), I will make a few of these... I'm a college kid, always 
looking for a new way to make a few bucks, ya know? ;) Might even float a 
few on eBay, see if I get a response.

Thanks John, I've gotten the correct plugs (weird size and VERY expensive)
but the audio levels are waaaaay too low to be of any use :(
