Hi, Chris.
i've seen pictures of the craft - a highly modified C-130.
the extra "engines" were JATO units ( i think ), and yes, it was used to
quickly, covertly drop troops. i don't think it has actually seen action.
this has to be an extremely dangerous plane to fly, based on other
C-130-type disasters i've seen in the past.
