I'm thinking about reusing as many parts as we can from the stick. We know
that the size of gimbals are too big (about 3.5" x 3.5", plus the gears and
space to hold the pots). Basically, there's no ways to fit this set into the
replica stick base. If we can redesign to have smaller mechanism using
steel instead of cast aluminum, the size can be reduced.... and we may house
them into a redesigned base which is look alike.
This may not the best way, but it might be a good solution than just placing
the stick with large base on the console. So far, I haven't seen any
solution yet, and yours seems to be the answer for now.
