In Brooklyn we can't use solar power for our house. The local utility
("Con" Ed, and everyone else while we're at it) says it is to help
promote competition. :-?

Go figure! (At least beaurocrats never change!)

UK Govt mentality... they want you to drive a diesel car because it is
supposedly cleaner (hah!) and to help persuade you, they keep the price
of
diesel fuel lower than regular petrol.

Time passes.. more and more people buy diesel cars - so they put the
price
of diesel up higher than regular gas.

Oh you gotta love em.  NOT.
