Stuart, if you *must* have that image rotated 90 degrees, you can get the
result you want by rotating the yoke on the CRT 90 degrees.  It's a
drastic step but it'll do what you want.  FYI, ground the tube before you
mess with the yoke.  A CRT will kill you if you're not careful with it.
