Your information are really interesting for me.
I have the Mirage 2000 IFF box.
Four code options are available in the Mode 4 :
- Zero
- A
- B
- Hold

Do you know the signification?
 Nope, sorry - I was an air traffic controller and know about mode, but not
the mode 4 as that was used for military use.  I suspect that each mode was
some special way that radar intercept operators could use as secure means of
identification for military use.  I believe that it has a universal setting
for use with nato allies and a specific setting for French military, but
that is just speculation on my part.  Next airshow ask questions of the
maintance people, they will be more helpful then the pilots in talking about
the hardware.  You can also check into a current version of Janes book on
avionics, radar, equipment it might also have some information.
