Although they are probably a good alternative, understand that a collimating
system actually uses optics to bend the image into infinity.  Although your
brain can be "fooled" into thinking it is in the 3d world with a flat
display, the flat display system still does not come close to a true
optically collimated image.

I know it's been a long time since I've written, but I've been

do you guys think about the HDTV approach for a visual system--
cost aside, does it provide the authenticity that the collimated
displays do? Just wondering.
