I just re-read your message, and x-auto is probably going to be exactly
what you need since it uses the core engine from x-plane and will probably
have all the same udp features x-plane does. I know it'll have car-maker
since Austin has already assured me I can model my Camaro with it ;)

I know people are cursing Austin for not devoting 100% of his time to
x-plane but this looks like fun!
