Thought this might be of interest to some. Today I hop on Trillian, and lo
and behold, every few minutes I get kicked off my AIM connection, getting
this message:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You have been disconnected from the AOL Instant Message Service (SM) for
accessing the AOL network using unauthorized software.  You can download a
FREE, fully featured, and authorized client, here
http://www.aol.com/aim/download2.html.
Me, I find this hilarious. AOL isn't going to get people to use its software
by going around and advertising the fact that they have a massive rod up
their @$$. The Trillian guys will get around this, then the next thing that
AOL comes out with, then the next thing. Its kinda like the whole effort to
protect CDs from being copied: its completely pointless, people will always
get around it! Personally, I think there's nothing funnier than a giant
company making a complete @$$ out of itself... so keep on trying, AOL! ROFL
Brian
