I was mainly worried about the threading for the screws ( that connect the
light plate) , if that will make a difference there

I don't think it will make a difference, and chances are, 1.4 and 1.6 *are*
the same stuff. We use a number of different materials, which are all
nominally 16 Gauge, but can measure out anywhere from 1.4 through to 1.7,
even though on paper "16 Gauge" is 1.6mm
Reality check is; will you ever notice that it's 0.2mm under size? Hell the
paint will be thicker than that :) and by the time you have the panel
completed nobody will be looking at the ali plate ;-)
