[simpits-tech] Switchs, Rotary and pot

Isn't Micro Cockpit in France an EPIC vendor (www.fsim.com)?? They list
the basic EPIC USB for 405 Euros, versus $329 from Flightlink in the US.
Yes, more expensive by a little less than 25% versus US price but not
quite as bad as you make out...France is already inside the EU.

I've looked at Phidgets and Hagstrom keybd encoders and Xkeys type
things and various other bits and pieces...there's nothing like EPIC
when it comes to taking a huge wedge out of the complexity of
integrating all the mechanical and electrical systems you'll need for a
complete project. Getting any one subsystem to work is easy, getting
them all to work together is much, MUCH harder. EPIC makes great "glue"
for integrating disparate systems.

I look at the price of EPIC kit as a premium, true enough. But in terms
of how much of my time I'll save by using EPIC instead of hacking
together other pieces parts and getting them to play nicely
together...well it's an easy opportunity cost savings equation for me!

Just another perspective for you to consider on EPIC.

Cheers,

Mark.
