[simpits-tech] Adapting headsets

You will find that the plug is a slight bit larger in diameter than the hole
of a standard 1/4" Phone jack.  The plug is a U-174/U plug.

Flight Suits Inc sell an extension cable that mates to it and you can cut
off the other end and put on whatever you want in the way of standard plugs.
