Actually, I am working on a solution that you guys might want (along
with knobs and a bunch of other fun stuff).

I have a new force sensitive F-16 style stick that uses real force
sensors! The stick is adjustable so you can electronically set the
amount of force you apply for full scale. It can drive either an EPIC
system or directly into your PC's game port.

The grip does not physically move (well, just the normal amount that a
real F-16 side stick does). The base will look like a real F-16 side
stick base and is designed to mount into a real F-16 AUX panel (for
those who are well heeled) or can be mounted with an adapter plate to
the console of your choice with a large bolt. For you arm chair pilots
I might come up with a floor mount system.

The only technical problem I have right now is getting a suitable grip.
I have made some gestures to Thrustmaster, but have not received a
reply. If their grip connector that they use is robust enough to with
stand 100 lbs of force I could offer an adapter for it.

Considering the projected costs that this side stick will cost, a
plastic grip may be more economical, but we will see when the first
prototype rolls off my milling machine in a few weeks. Wish me luck.

Additionally, I may have an F-16 gauge solution for the 9 round F16
gauges. They would be servo driven and through a simple interface can
be driven from the PC's serial port.

I plan to offer a universal gauge back that can be connected to any
gauge head (which has the face plate and needle). They will be a drop
in mechanical replacement for the real things (that means that they
mount into the exact same hole as the real things do).

For those that are cash strapped you will be able buy just the head if
you want a static gauge and then buy the gauge back when you can afford
it so that they can be activated.

I have no plans to offer gauges for other aircraft and I don't have an
economical solution for the square indicators (altimeter, mach meter,
ADI, HSI...). Sorry.
