Just chatting with the guy who runs our CNC machines and he's happy to
mill panels for me.

My idea is to use white opaque acrylic sheet (~4mm thick) with the face
painted matt black. The 0.5mm cutter will then cut through the paint
leaving the white of the acrylic showing.

This gives me white text on a black background, is robust, and allows for
back-lighting.

Perfect?  Tests begin tomorrow!
