That's odd, I did pretty much the same thing (used AnaDisk or CopyQM to
create the 360KB 3.5" floppy) a few years back; it would get past the
"Loading DOSPLUS.SYS.......", clunk about a bit as usual and then reboot.
Perhaps a duff disk then.  Actually, come to think of it, that was my old
286, not VMware; I think the HDD controller was duff on that which might
explain something.
