Thanks Rick,

Thought its just that easy, but going on to all those trouble, it might come out more expensive to make them work. Its always good to seek advice from expert simmers. Saved me from going all the troubles.

By the way, been to Taipei and got this ipad clone thats a PC for $200, check it out Moonse e-7001 called the a-pad, it interfaced with my flight simulator.

Again thanks for the info.

Good luck with that. They are all so different.
Then add ribbon cables to the equation. What do you mean by broken? The cases?
Or are they fried somehow electronically.

Most of those things are composite (RCA) or
perhaps S-Video. Some of them even have mini 1/8" phone plugs for video
in. Depending on what they are, you can either get a TV card (all in wonder
etc), but I don't know how you'd interface that with X-Plane or FS.
Alternative is to search for the pin-outs and try to wire them up the way you
like. But if the monitor won't turn on, you have bigger issues to deal
with. Stripping the screen out to operate stand-alone is paramount to asking a
car to go down the road 60 miles an hour without an engine. The "screen" being
the "car". There is an inverter, and a PSU and backlighting and everything
else in an LCD monitor. If none of those things work, that is why they are
cheap. Because they aren't useful for anything except spare parts.

separate the screen and wire it from there? i would like to use them to create
glass cockpit instruments.
