after precision-drilling a number of Lexan panels for the sim, it was

time to paint...<br><br>

i used enamel paint, the type that smells of tolulene - often used in

model building.<br><br>

when the 2nd coat was applied, it wrinkled and crazed like nobody's

business. i applied the 2nd coat well after 24 hours under moderate

humidity and perfect temperature.<br><br>

i _think_ an interaction is caused with the 1st coat, which (probably)

isn't adhering to the Lexan very well. i'm painting the backside of the

panels (they are clear in the front), so sanding is not an

option.<br><br>

the question: has anyone else had success painting lexan? i've had no

problem with plexiglass, but this seems a different beast altogether.

next trip out, i'll get some laquer and try it on a throw-away

piece.<br><br>

...back to making replacement panels :-(<br><br>
