[simpits-tech] Problem update & shop news...

I replaced the defective DSL router with a new unit last night. So far it
hasn't stopped passing traffic like the old one did.

There are still outstanding routing issues to and from simpits.org. My
ISP is currently trying to discover what they mis-configured. :)

The heater was finally installed in the shop yesterday! No more freezing
fingers. :) For those interested, it's a 75,000 BTU Cayenne brand LP Gas
heater. It draws combustion air from the outside so I don't have to worry
about it igniting any chemical fumes in the air.

I got the Epilog laser unpacked and set up on Saturday night. Amazing
little toy to say the least! It's treated just like a printer - in fact,
you install a printer driver to talk to the laser. Pretty cool stuff.

I only did a few test runs with it by raster engraving some of the sample
material that was included with it. It's got a pretty steep learning
curve to it as nothing is absolute because of differing material
densities. I should be able to get some great results out of it soon.
This of course means that once I have a process in place, I'll be able to
create Type 5 & Type 7 panels with no problems. Not to mention the cool
component parts for R/C models I'll be able to churn out. :)

ttyl!
