 Liam:
What had happened was in Nov '21 a young (25+) friend told me about burbsec meetings about 2 miles N of where I work that he attended. (Oh. burbsec comes from suBURBan cyberSECurity networking meetings; I think burbsec.com) I told my more senior (my age) friends who did that and most were Linux experts, too. A bunch of the young 'uns wanted to learn server admin.
One of the discussions was what distro to use. Well Centos, of course; 'cept (its now early '22): it has just been yanked away from the world. :-( Not sure any of us (the mentioned people) saw an article by you, then, but we might have. (I've mentioned "I know that guy" to them before now.)
Well, gathering hardware and such continued for another year. Moved form Skype meetings to Discord (recently): "Burbsec Linux Learning". We had decided Alma (Spanish; translates as soul) would be the replacement distro and were about to start installs in July. Then one of my senior friends saw your two week ago article and we all read with dismay the contents. I saw this week's and let them know their was a follow up. They've all seen it, by now.
So there is a .. dozen or so avid readers of this topic that I know. Keep up the great work. :-D

The second article did answer a circle of my friends questions about "Isn't that against the GNU Public License?". I have mentioned to them that I've been familiar with you / your work "for a while". Has (emphasis left to the reader) it been 20 years? Yeah. About. :-(

I'm very glad to hear they're getting read!  I get very little
feedback from anyone ever, so the main thing I have to go by are the
number of comments.

Been writing for the Reg full time for about 18 months now. As a
freelancer for about 12 years before that.

So, no, not 20 years online yet, although my last print gig was 20 years ago.
