I think that is some totally different project called OpenGEM, looking
at the subprojects...

As far as GEM-the-GUI goes, it might also be worth pointing out that
although the official DR GEM for the Atari ST never got open-sourced,
AFAIK, there *is* a FOSS GEM-compatible OS for the Atari platform
these days: in other words, an open-source AES, VDI, desktop etc. It's
called AFROS:

It runs on the ARAnyM ST emulator which is on on the same site.

Given that AFROS is based on MultiTOS, a multitasking GEM to start
with, it's possible that some of the code in there might be
instructive or useful in trying to build a multitasking GEM on top of
Linux.
