To the best of my knowledge, it never happened. (I wrote an SDL version of the video driver, SDPSC9.VGA, a while ago, but that was as far as it got). -- John Elliott From rtdos at hotmail.com Tue Oct 9 13:32:55 2012 From: rtdos at hotmail.com (Wood Jeff) Date: Tue, 9 Oct 2012 14:32:55 -0600 Subject: [GEM Development] OpenGEM & Linux In-Reply-To: References: from "Wood Jeff" at Oct 03, 2012 2:33:43 pm GMT, Message-ID: In that case, I'd like to begin working on it...anyone game? I think that is some totally different project called OpenGEM, looking at the subprojects... As far as GEM-the-GUI goes, it might also be worth pointing out that although the official DR GEM for the Atari ST never got open-sourced, AFAIK, there *is* a FOSS GEM-compatible OS for the Atari platform these days: in other words, an open-source AES, VDI, desktop etc. It's called AFROS: http://aranym.org/afros.html It runs on the ARAnyM ST emulator which is on on the same site. Given that AFROS is based on MultiTOS, a multitasking GEM to start with, it's possible that some of the code in there might be instructive or useful in trying to build a multitasking GEM on top of Linux. -- Liam Proven ?
