There was interesting experimental multitasking-GEM version for download:
"OpenGEM/XM is an experimental distribution that brings multi-tasking to
OpenGEM. We are still building the system, and we need people to test it.
If you have the time, please join in and let us know how to make sure we
end up with the best multi-tasking 16bit GUI solution for DOS!"
