[GEM Development] OpenGEM/XM operation

(1) XM not working under XP (Owen's comment):
At first it didn't work for me, either. When I expanded the zip file I 
got a folder under the GEM/XM name (I can't remember exactly what name 
it had, or whether I created that first or it was automatically created) 
somehow with an \OPENGEM folder within it. I had to liberate these into 
c:\ before it would run. I've put a shortcut to GEM.BAT on my desktop.

After that, it opened fine.

(2) Network drives (my earlier question):
After I got all those firewall/ IP address issues sorted out, I got my 
network drives (between U: and Z:) back. I changed the SUBST lines in 
GEM.BAT to P: and Q:, and there were no conflicts with the network.
