The WD "Paradise Plus" that I have says *nothing*
about "8514/a". Are you sure it says / IS that model?
My ISA card has a PVGA1A 'main chip'.
With the 256KB upgrade I gave it (512KB total); it is,
of course, capable of 800x600 Interlaced(Il) (the
8514/a 'standard'? or was that 1024x768 (Il)?) as well
as 800x600 (Non-Il) (256 colors capable - IF the Sw
environment supports that which GEM doesn't(?) - and
1024x768 (Il or N-Il) at 16 colors (max). (It NEEDS
1024KB (1 MB) for 256 colors at 1024x768.)
I've got two Trident 8900 / 9000 based ISA cards. Hey,
this is in one of the letters that got 'ruined by the
router'. I'll resend that First then continue.
John, DO, please, check your Hw in the mean time.
Also, IF you do have the drivers, already, May I try
them with my card. (This should be legit. BTW.. Attach
them to a NON-list letter, sent directly to me; IF
possible. I'll be looking for them myself at the HAM
Radio fest this weekend.
