[GEM Development] So... how is everyone?

Couldn't agree more - the western port is great if you've got a boat.
As far as pier's are concerned, anywhere down geelong is a goer for me.
But lately, I've been content to the inner west suburbs (near the west
gate bridge). Lots of lil breamies floating about :) Also a lot of
pinkies (snapper) which is very encouraging!

In regards to water, I was almost in tears seeing all that rain we got
simply get pumped out to sea. There's a brown tinge around the bays now
- so silly. I recall the yarra being about 6ft higher than usual week
before last, a little scary.

If our government spent as much money on research as they do on
advertising to us to save water, they would've routed half of that yarra
water and we'd be set for years - not that we especially would be fond
of "drinking" the water from there, but still - why let it float to sea?

I was lucky in my region, worst I had was a bit of a late-run in on the
freeway.. and got my socks wet - some of my friends weren't so lucky.

Well enough of my off topic ranting I've got windows boxes to patch :P

Chris

G'day, Chris!

Was it "...a sunburnt country, a land of floods and drought..."?

I've been hearing from our Melbourne people -- it sounds like only the
web-footed have been surviving down there! Well, I suppose that, given
that Melbourne is definitely down, that's where all the water has to run
to... :-) It's been intermittently difficult to get quality advice from
our main IT section because they have all been dashing home and doing
Sorcerer's Apprentice acts, trying to sweep the encroaching waters away.

Send some up here. The Water Board located all the catchments where it
rarely rains, so that they can do maintenance all year round -- umm, so
they could do maintenance all year round if ever the madness took them.

Where do you fish? One of our Data Analysts used to do a lot of evening
fishing somewhere on the western side of the Port, but she said she was
catching too many small sharks... anyway, she reckoned it was the best
way to unwind after a mad day in the office.

All the best,

Peter
