If you want to start developing for GEM you can get development tools from

There you will find bindings for DJGPP and PacificC.
You can get the FreeGEM AES source from

You can get the FreeGEM VDI source from
http://myweb.cableone.net/eathan/download/gdos30.zip
You can get the default OpenGEM desktop from
http://www.seasip.info/Gem/desktops.html
There are more FreeGEM and DR GEM source bits at
