Just keep in mind that the ACES II seat used by the A-10 is the same variant as the F-15. The seat base is different - it has the ejection handles on the sides, a squared off forward seat frame and no center eject lanyard. :) g. -- Proud owner of F-15C 80-0007 http://www.f15sim.com - The only one of its kind. http://www.simpits.org/geneb - The Me-109F/X Project ScarletDME - The red hot Data Management Environment A Multi-Value database for the masses, not the classes. http://www.scarletdme.org - Get it _today_! I found a Logitech Extreme Pro joy stick ( with USB) at Goodwill for $5. We adopted an extension on it and it will work perfectly as a floor mounted joy stick in the cockpit. I also found a nice folding boat seat that will work as the cockpit seat for those long flights. I will use an ACER screen for the cockpit display of the "round gauges", programmed to work with IL-2. The ACER screen will be cut to fit as an overlay onto the sim instrument panel. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gene Buckle" To: Sent: Wednesday, May 19, 2010 6:49 AM Subject: [diy-cockpit] Progress update & introductions... > It's been a while since some of you got your DIY cockpit CD and I wanted > to post a quick message to see how you were doing. > > Please introduce yourselves to the list! > > As a general question, how are you doing on your project? I've ordered a 1/4 scale instrument panel kit from these guys in the Czech republic which I will scale up to fit my 'pit. The plan is to have a second screen in it running UDP gauges for the sim. Has anyone had any luck finding a suitable lever or something that can be mounted neatly on a cockpit sidewall as a throttle? I've seen some boat throttle levers which look useful, nice long bowden cable to remote the throttle pot with too, but they are expensive!
