ah yes, memories of fortran and basic 101 games.
16K(I'm just guessing I never did pay attention to how much they held) memory on a 8 inch floppy diskette, and what a floppy diskette those were.

That brings back some memories! I used to work with a PDP/1135
(Militarized version). It was so cutting edge that the 2 motherboards
had a back-plane that was wire-wrapped.
Processor speed was a blazing 1mhz! (Forgot what the memory footprint
was... but I think back then it was only a toe-print) Memory card had
it's own slot.. all wire-wrapped.

On a related note,
I just inherited 4 IBM x455's each has 4 1.5 Ghz Itanium2's W/8GB of ram per
CPU. Formerly the centralized traffic/billing computers for 40 someodd
television stations. They need to serve a much more noble and cool purpose.
Anything FS related that will run on them? The bad thing is being servers
they arnt exactly equipped for visual apps.

Austin, you might want to contact the FlightGear folks (the developers
list specifically). There are text base services those machines could
perform, like multi-player & map servers and maybe even a TerraGear
generation farm.
