Hi all,

After 7 years, it has to go! Modelled loosely on Roy Coates excellent build:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fighter-Style-Flight-Simulator-Cockpit -/270657330506

Help me clear the spare room! Second attempt to sell after lack of interest previously.

Regards,

Toby.

It does say somewhere in there about being an "extension" of Flightgear or
something.

I found the ad on my face book page.

Yeah, they spam a lot from time to time.

They also offer this lot via Ebay.

I wouldn't give them a penny. Although it is apparently legal, it is
bloody unfair to people like Curt who have worked so hard to create it and
who willingly give it away to folks like us.

Google ads is like a cesspool ain't it? There was one awhile back about some
gal who had discovered the secret to white teeth. The picture, and the name,
was of a gal I know who lives only a few blocks from here. They quoted
statements from several Dentists in the Town (who do not exist), and had her
pegged as a single Mom with three kids. In actuality, she is a 29 year old
Teacher, with no kids.

Thanks Roy. I will Boycott them.

When I start seeing my own sorry face up there promoting erectile
dysfunction or something, I'll know it's time to pitch the computers.

:)

Google are rapidly becoming the dark side of the net. "Do No Evil" is
their motto, and yet they are exploiting every loophole they can to avoid
taxation - like they're short of a few quid - and are getting pretty
heavy-handed with anyone who stands in their way. Worrying.

How many years before Google buy Microsoft ?

Hey, at least that'd be a believable ad! ;-)

I agree with you on Google. My sister-in-law is a filmmaker and she's
essentially lost the bank due to Google Ads referring people to pirate
sites for her films. Google no longer cares where the money comes from
anymore.. just so long as it comes.

regardless of all the google stuff,
x-plane is a lot better and since V10 is on the way you can get 9 for 30$
which is less then what they take

flightprosim is a *SCAM*.

What this jerk is doing is taking a build of FlightGear and selling it.
He's not adding any value at all or adding any new functionality to
FlightGear. He's preying on people that don't know they can get the same
thing for free by just downloading it.

For those that don't know, FlightGear is an open source flight simulator
project that's been around since 1996. It's a fantastic project that has
made some huge leaps in recent years. It was featured at FSWeekend 2010 a
few weeks ago - running *10* displays from a single computer. If memory
serves, it was 8 out the cockpit views and 2 instrument panel views.
They also showed off native support for 3D glasses. (Anamorphic Stereo is
what I _think_ they called it)

You can get more info here: http://www.flightgear.org

Here's the October 2010 newsletter:
http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/FlightGear_Newsletter_O ctober_2010

Here's the FlightGear wiki article on FPS:
http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/FlightProSim

If you'd like to participate in the FlightGear project, please do!
Everyone is welcome!

That's unfortunate. Somewhat the opposite of having someone steal your
proprietary rights, and then giving them away.

There are millions of ways, to make millions of dollars on the World Wide
Web, providing you have one skill ... no couth.

Yep. Search eBay some time for "flight simulator". You'll see dozens of
people selling it. I'd have zero problem with it if they were up front
about what it really is and where it came from. Providing FlightGear on
DVD is a good thing, but not at $40+.
