I just re-enabled a number of accounts that had been disabled due to
excessive bounces. The bounces happened because a list member (not Joab
this time! *laughs*) got a virus and was passing it through the list. The
recipient mail servers blocked it and Mailman automatically un-subscribed
the users because of it.
The re-enabling I did will allow me to identify those that are "real" hard
bounces (most often times, the email account has been closed and the user
never un-subbed from the list) and those that got caught up in the spam
traps.

i think i am finally clean of that mess, i changed my pass on my yahoo and it
stopped.

you did at least use a medium strength password right?????
nothing personal, I had a child (teenager) in the house that kept using extremely simple passwords on her accounts until she finally learned the hard way to use passwords that I gave her to use. Then of course I had to teach her to stop answering those silly emails that get passed around with the umpteen hundred questions on them.

While good advice, it doesn't really have any effect with the whole yahoo
email address thing. The passwords were stolen via a drive-by malware
download. A large number of people got caught by it.
