So you're using the one encoder to cover NAV1/NAV2 and COM1/COM2? Got a
pic of the panel? :)

Hi all,

Going back a month, I remembered the posts regarding encoders.

I don't know if it will help, but I was digging through some of my
spares bins when I found a box of encoders. These are cheap mechanical
types almost identical to:

http://www.mouser.com/catalog/specsheets/EC11B15243BD%20Draw ing.pdf

These are 30 detent, metal through-panel mount, 6mm metal shaft,
2-phase plus common output with two pins for momentary NO push switch.

I have 60 of these which I shall list in packs of five.

If anyone is interested I will be putting these on eBay this weekend.
If there is any interest, I shall post the link when they are listed.

Jim.

The EC11E series is apparently the replacement line, but the 100 they
ordered won't be shipped to Mouser until the 27th of Oct...

Hi all,

just some additional info on the rotary encoders that I have listed on eBay.

On an earlier post regarding Leo's BU036 and encoders, reference was made to
the Sparkfun encoders:

http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9117

These are the same in function to mine except that the Sparkfun version has
a plastic shaft instead of metal and the shaft length is insufficient to go
through a 1mm mounting panel plus a 6mm light-plate and still be able to
mount a knob, let alone have enough space left to be able to utilise the
push-button. My listed version will allow all this to work without problems.
I have used them myself on my B737-800 overhead on the pressurisation
module. They also work great on the MCP.

Jim.

I'm surprised that after the complaints about decoder prices, nobody was
interested in the eBay listing. I have relisted the decoders that I have,
and added the opportunity to make an offer on them. Here is the new link:

I think that speaks to the broader issue that simming has basically come to a grinding halt in the US as financial priorities shift. :-(
